Galibier, Izoard, Colle del Sestriere, Colle Delle Finestre, L'alpe d'Huez. The cycling greats have climbed them all! Now you can too. Our Classic climbs week is designed to take in some of the most famous climbs in the cycling world. Climbs made famous by the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France.
This week you will get a taste of real alpine cycling as well as a taste of some of the best food and wines in Europe. Many cyclists dream of doing these climbs, now you can live the dream! Itinerary

Day 1 collection from airport/railway station and transfer to accomodation in Val Chisone

Day 2 Giro del Val Chisone. An introduction to the area and a visit to Pinerolo (Giro stage finish 2007) (100km)

Day 3 Colle del Sestriere The first day climbing! A gentle introduction to the mountains with a climb to 2035m and a descents you can only dream about! Here you will se the site of the 2006 winter Olympics. (80km)

Day 4 Colle delle Finestre. Today we tackle the 3rd hardest climb in Europe! Scene of the penultimate stage of the Giro 2005. Danilo Di Luca was first to the top. Can you make it? Before we set off on the climb we have time to take a look around the Roman city of Susa (120km)

Day 5 Time to rest the legs a little after yesterday's ride. We take a scenic descent down the valley for one short climb of the Rocca di Cavour and return for Slowfood award winning icecream at Pinerolo. (90km)

Day 6 Galibier Telegraph. We transfer to France for one of the most famous climbs of the Tour. (100-120km)

Day 7 Izoard Scene of both the Giro and Tour. We finish the week with one of the most picturesque routes in France followed by an out of this world descent to Briancon. (110km)

Day 8 Packing, Goodbyes and retun transfer.
Our Itinerary is posted as an example and may be modified to suit the riders and climatic conditions at the time.

WHATS INCLUDED
This trip includes half board accomodation (one evening out at own expense) wine with evening meal, Menu specially designed for cyclistsand made mainly with local and organic produce. Transfers to and from Turin Caselle Airport/Turin rail terminals, Vehicle support where required (always on call), guided rides, secure bike store, workshop for minor repairs, bike shop on call.
WHATS NOT
You are responsible for arranging your flights and adequate travel insurance. We do not cover your sundry expenses, refreshments, repairs whilst out on the rides nor your lunch. It is obligatory on our rides that you wear a helmet, carry sufficient water and are in suitable physical condition for the level of rides you undertake. Bike hire can be arranged and is charged extra.
