The Hannibal Team

The company was established in 2003 when we decided to set up our own holiday company to pomote our own brand of quality cycling holidays. We organise most of our holidays from our alpine base in Chambons in the heart of Val Chisone Italy. Located in a tastefully restored 16th century "Casa". It is run by Kent & Michelle Benson and their son George. You deal directly with us from your first contact. There are no middlemen and we are all driven by the same passion for cycling as our guests.

Michelle's experience lies in Hotel management and catering. She is a qualified chef and hotel manager, having worked for Major Companies in both UK and Europe. She speaks French, German, Italian and English (of course!) as well as being an experienced and competent skier (qualified as a disabled ski guide). Michelle is also competent on snowshoes and crosscountry skis.

 

 

 

Kent is a qualified mountain bike instructor (SIMB level III), Guida Cicloturistica, an amateur triathlete and racing cyclist as well as qualified personal fitness consultant and regional nature guide. He started his cycling career with the Harlow Cycling club when he was 12 years old taking part in road, criterium, track and timetrialing, winning several club and regional competitions. He has also been involved in organising and coaching novice riders for Round Table charity rides in the UK. During military service at RMA Sandhurst he qualified as a Unit Expedition Leader (Summer). He also enjoys snowshoeing and crosscountry skiing and horse riding. He speaks English, Italian and a little French.

George is 12 years old and is currently at the local school. However in his free time he is keen to show our guests the best places to visit. He is a member of the Ski Club Borgata spending most of his free time in the winter on the slopes. He also enjoys cross country skiing and mountain biking as well as being knowledgeable on the local plants and animals. He is fluent in English, Italian and speaks some French.

 

We live in Italy 24/7 and this allows us to have an in depth knowledge of the Italian language, customs, food and traditions, which we are happy to share with you. With this and our "Anglo-Saxon" outlook means that we can add an extra dimension to your holiday.

Our passion is for good cycling and good food. Italy is where we combine these to provide a holiday experience second to none. Our chosen hotel suppliers are subject to rigorous quality controls and must share our passion for hospitality.

It is extremely satisfying when you can see that your guests have really enjoyed their holiday. We're not in this business to earn "a million bucks," sharing our passion for cycling and hospitality has far greater rewards!
